A visionary becomes virtual

Steve Jobs is dead. He has, at last, succumbed to the vagaries of nature. He has left the physical world for time being and probably, live, in the virtual world forever, not just limited to the Macs, iPads and iPhones. His products may limit the users... but, I don't think anybody would feel limited thinking about him!

It is difficult to imagine a world without Steve Jobs. For the ones in the technology world, where Apple was a definition of all things perfect, here is a loss of a perfect person. How can somebody imperfect create something perfect... or maybe, most of us think is perfect. If life is about perceptions, I suppose our perception of Apple being refined, suave, sophisticated, elegant is perfect. Not unless Steve jobs has some kind of magic wand to mesmerize the world to accept his products.

I became a fan of Steve Jobs because of Dato Dr. Palan. He used to explain about the presentation in which Steve Jobs introduced Apple Mac. I go back to that Apple introduction in 1984 where he opens a small bag to reveal the mac... takes the floppy diskette with such flair from his Coat pocket and switches on the system.

The whole show comprises of Steve's charisma, elegance and flair. His vision is demonstrated adequately by the words "MACINTOSH... insanely great!!!". There are time when a few words are equivalent to a thousand pictures and these three words define his vision - Greatness far beyond the understanding of Sanity.

He is no more... He was consumed by the nature which chose the most gory way to take him out - Cancer. But, if somebody can make death look elegant, who else but Steve. Even after Bloomberg readied its obituary in 2008, expecting his death, mere mortals may have become less confident and probably die much earlier. However, this is Steve we are talking about, who went on with life, with resilience added to his natural flair.

What Steve has left behind is his legacy - Vision that transcends all hurdles; Charisma that absorbs failures; Flair that endures success; Personality that defined success; Character that oozed courage.

Steve... I don't know you personally. But I am proud that I was around when you lived!!!
