The flop was prompted by one moment of weakness. I was posted at Johor Bahru for a project. The client had provided us with accommodation. One fine morning, I got out of bed, settled in the couch to watch news, to find what is the latest body count in the latest spate of fighting between a group of stupids and a bunch of morons in
Suddenly, my head felt very light and lucid. I felt weightless as if I was in water. The room started spinning around me. My vision was failing and everything became dark. It was like reducing the brightness of the television. I lost my foothold and started my fall towards the floor. It was a very unique experience. It was as if I was I was flying. While I was enjoying this sensation, god played a cruel joke on me. He put a table in my flight path. I could see the table and was aware of the fact that I was going to hit it. Any other time, my hands would have moved by reflex to protect my face. I wanted to cover my face, but my body was not responding. I still remember seeing the table come closer and closer towards my face. My forehead hit the table with such force that my head bounced back like a basketball. That excruciating pain brought back a degree of consciousness. My first reaction was to check my forehead for any blood. I could feel a big lump on the head. Fortunately, there was no bleeding. I try to be very careful about not getting any bleeding injuries. Because of some deficiency, my blood does not clot as fast as it should. It means that even a small cut may result in heavy loss of blood. Anyway, there was no bleeding and I didn’t have to worry about it.
The loud noise, equivalent to a nuke test, brought Sahiran scurrying to my rescue. I was really thankful that he was around. I began worrying about my health condition. It’s not that I am a weakling. I know that I was not taking my meals regularly and have been stretching myself both on the job and off the job. This reminder had to come sometime and I was not surprised that this happened.
